impact

Every discovery begins with someone willing to believe a better future is possible.

At the Stenson Foundation, we believe that hope for children with cancer is built through research. Every breakthrough begins with scientists asking bold questions and having the resources to pursue them.

Because of the generosity of our donors, sponsors, and community supporters, the Stenson Foundation has already begun funding research that will improve outcomes for children facing cancer.

Our focus is supporting innovative research that has the potential to transform treatment options, improve quality of life, and ultimately lead to cures.

Germ Cell Tumor Research

In 2025, the Stenson Foundation funded a $100,000 research project at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute focused on germ cell tumors.

This project is working to create new germ cell tumor cell line models using patient tumor samples—something that previously did not exist for germ cell cancer.

These laboratory models allow researchers to:

- Study how germ cell tumors behave.

- Test new therapies in the lab before they reach patients

- Better understand why some tumors respond to treatment and others do not

This type of work is known as translational research, which bridges the gap between scientific discovery and real-world treatment.

Because current treatments for germ cell cancers are often decades old and can carry significant long-term side effects, developing better models is a critical step toward discovering safer and more effective therapies.

This project was supported in partnership with the Malignant Germ Cell Tumor International Collaborative, a global research consortium dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of germ cell tumors.

NANT is a collaborative network of hospitals and research institutions working to develop and test new therapies for children with relapsed or high-risk neuroblastoma, one of the most challenging pediatric cancers.

Through clinical trials and innovative research approaches, NANT is working to bring new treatment options to children who urgently need them.

Research changes lives—but it only moves forward when it is funded.

Your support helps the Stenson Foundation continue investing in innovative research that could change the future for children facing cancer.
